NEW YORK ON A BUDGET

A dream come true, so I felt for my first trip to New York and even being in the United States. The Big Apple is the city of big dreams (and big burgers), a city that never sleeps and it’s full of the best hotspots. People say that this city is very pricey but if you know the right info you can definitely save some pennies here and there to invest it in something else, like into your wardrobe. New York City Pass // When visiting New York for the first time it is certainly advisable to buy the City Pass. Especially when there are multiple sights and museums on your schedule, you’ll save with this until much pennies. By purchasing this pass (around $ 100), you can visit 6 top attractions such as Top of the Rock and Statue of Liberty, and save you both time and money. Also, you do not have to stand in long lines for a ticket. What else do you want?

Book a bike online // When you walk around in the tourist areas you will find yourself getting being addressed by several people who want you to rent a bicycle. When you’re doing some research you will find booking online saves money big time. During my stay in New York I easily saved more than 50% on my bicycle rent because I booked it online.

Visit a local market //  Like any other city, New York has plenty of nice markets where you can relax, eat some good food and maybe you can do a good buy. One of the best markets in New York (actually in Brooklyn) is the Williamsburg Flea Market where you can eat at one of the food trucks and you fashion and interior heart beat faster at the many vintage stalls.

Take the subway // Maybe it’s obvious tip; but discover New York on its best is by using the underground metro. Of course, it is very tempting to go for the iconic yellow cabs but the subway also has its charm. Furthermore, it is very budget friendly because for a ticket for 7 days you pay only $ 30.When you make more than two trips per day (and you do that for sure) it’s the perfect option for you!

Happy hours // When you love a drink, the happy hours in New York are perfect for you. In many nice bars, restaurants and rooftop bars you can enjoy delicious drinks and cocktails for a fraction of the original price just before the busy hours. Gimme that cocktail, please!
