MBFWA/ MATTIJS, AZIZ BEKKAOUI & JAN BOELO

The last 3 days I spent in Amsterdam to attend the Amsterdam Fashion Week (or now called MBFWA) with some fellow bloggers and Bloggernet. For these days my home was Hotel V and I couldn’t wish for anything better – more about that later. Back to the shows…

AZIZ BEKKAOUI
This  is one of the shows that surprisingly blowed me away. Aziz is a designer who sees fashion not only as clothes, but for him it’s a way of art. So I was quite curious to see what he has to bring. With Public Enemy (see here) pumping out of the speakers and a dance team who opened the show I knew it would be a hell of a good show. Bomber jackets, lot of black lace, army influences and the whole urban feel made me it something of my own generation – hello revival of the 80s/90s!

MATTIJS
The show started with a catwalk full of trees, vocals and picturesque prints on the background. Overall this collection wasn’t my style but he totally set the romantic atmosphere I could understand. As you may know, I’m really not that into prints, but I was really amazed by the lady who’s wearing a yellow/blue printed top that reminded me a bit of African prints. Very bold andinspired by nature.

JAN BOELO
It was last-minute that I decided to go to Jan Boelo because I wasn’t feeling that well that day. But damn, I’m happy I went – for several reasons. Boelo is known about his long gowns and ultimate feminine pieces. This time he went on the tough road with a lot of leather,  grey tones and hints rusty and brown. Totally my cup of tea! What this show made it even more exciting was the moment when I spotted the nephew of my boyfriend (2nd picture) walking in the show.
