HOW TO COMBINE A (FULL TIME) JOB WITH YOUR BLOG

Yes! I’ve never been a blogger that considered to blogging fulltime and call it her fulltime job. I like to many things that I prefer to combine my blog with a job. In the past few years  I combined several kind of jobs with my blog that I quite know how to work things out and hopefully inspire you with some advice. I’ve worked fulltime and part-time as a freelancer, combined this with a part-time job and now I’ve been working fulltime for a while now. And still, I keep on blogging while I really don’t have a lot of time to blog. So today I’m gonna share with you some tips to combine your (fulltime) job with your blog!

Get organised!
Back in the days I really wasn’t that organised when it came to my blog. Often I blogged the same morning and it was a bit stressy when I needed to get something online within a few minutes. These days it isn’t possible to do this and I’m required to plan things and get organised. Most of the time I’ll  prepare my posts during the weekend and you’ll surprised how good this feels.

Don’t be too strict with yourself
I had some moments where work and my social life got all my attention and I just could bring up to post something new on my blog. The first few moments I really hated this but finally I knew I just needed to listen to my own feeling and do the right thing. Sometimes it meant I just didn’t blog for a few days. You’re the boss of your own blog, so make your own rules. Never be too strict!

Taking pictures in advance
The most important part of my blog are the pictures. For me it’s really important to make, edit and post them in advance so I only need to write the rest of the content. Shooting outfit looks takes most of the time, but flatlays, shoppings and inspiration posts are more easy to make. Plan them, work it out and you’ve got enough content for the rest of the week. This is also the method I use for my instagram posts. Some of them are impulsive shots and some of them are planned in advance.

Use your phone
When you’re traveling to work by bus or train I’d recommend to use your phone to work on your blog. I re-edit my posts or make drafts with the WordPress app or post something on instagram, Facebook or Twitter with my phone. Yes, just use the time when you’re traveling and you don’t need to think about it while working!
